Johannesburg Polytechnic is the training division of Strathrand Technology. The college is a collaboration with Johannesburg Polytech Institute a Co-educational not for profit specializing in General Education and Training as well as Further Education and Training. The college is registered with the Gauteng Department of Education Registration Number GDE 12223 D11 JSM.

The Polytechnic offers tuition for reputable professional courses in Information Technology, Office Administration, Accountancy & Management and Hospitality. We are proud to offer tuition for reputable professional bodies like ACCA, CIMA and ICDL. Future expansion in electrical and electronic engineering are envisaged in 2010.

Become Computer Literate (BCL Programme)

Computer Laboratory

Johannesburg Polytechnic introduced the BCL Programme in 2004 and has offered the qualification since then to over 500 students. The course is modular in nature and flows in line with the internationally acclaimed ICDL.-International Computer Driving License. Modules are aligned with the National Qualifications Framework where we offer the tuition and hands on practical assessments until you qualify. We assist in booking of a testing centre.

Computer literacy is a very important component of all courses. Please note that if you do not show adequate knowledge of computers before you register for any other course you will be required to register for the BCL programme first.

International Students-Legal and Regulations

Johannesburg Polytechnic International Office

The Johannesburg Polytechnic International Office provides services to students and visiting scholars at Johannesburg Polytechnic. Our staff assists with problems related to your immigration, medical aid cover, social and personal adjustment to a new culture and practical matters related to your stay in South Africa.

We also provide you with an orientation in February/June to the college community and the city of Johannesburg as well as give you informational materials.
