Johannesburg
Polytechnic was
started in 2002, it
is a division of Strathrand
Technology CC, offering
computer literacy courses by a group
of young professionals, who felt
that South Africa needed to bridge
the digital divide between the
information haves and the
information have nots. At its
infancy the college was offering
computer literacy course with the
first batch of students undertaking
the course being only six girls.
When the college started offering
accounting courses in 2004, the name
was modified to Strathrand Graduate
School to reflect the new status.
The first batch of accounting
students were 5, three undertaking
CIS( Chartered Secretary Course
under ICSA-SA) and two undertaking
ACCA Foundation modules.
In July
2006, the college moved to
Braamfontein where it was felt that
there was an increasing number of
students looking for the ACCA
Qualification and needed a conducive
environment in a student setting.
Currently the college has a student
population of 120 students who are
on various courses. These range from
Accounting, Management and
Information Technology (Short
Computer Courses)
We are currently
pursuing Umalusi accreditation. This
is the General Education and

believe that for one to achieve he/she must
start to
imagine of possibilities. Just start to Imagine what
you could be in five, then, ten
