REGULATIONS GOVERNING ACCA
(ASSOCIATION OF CHARTERED CERTIFIED
ACCOUNTANTS) BURSARIES
Before
you fill in this application please
read the following carefully:

If you are intending to
undertake the ACCA programme on
a part-time /Saturday basis
please note that YOU DON'T
QUALIFY for the bursary.

Bursaries are open to the
following:
-
South African Citizens with
a Green Bar coded Identity
Document
-
Foreign Nationals who are Permanent Residents
with a Green Bar Coded Identity
Document
-
Foreign Nationals holding a
valid Asylum Seekers permit
(Section 22 Permit)
-
Foreign Nationals with a
valid
refugee red
Bar coded Identity Document
or Permit (Section 24)
NB:
Foreign Nationals other than
those mentioned above do not
qualify for bursaries and must
pay full tuition fee.
South African Citizens and
Residents mentioned above who
are working DO NOT QUALIFY
for
bursaries and must pay full
tuition fee.

Bursaries are for tuition fees
only. As such they cannot be
swapped for external
examinations or subscriptions
with the ACCA. It is your
responsibility to make sure that
these are taken care of.

Bursaries are competitive and
you will be called to come and
do an aptitude test in both
Mathematics and English.
-
Bursaries are reviewed every six
months depending on your
performance in internal
continuous assessments and
tests.
-
After your first year and
depending on your performance on
the external ACCA/CAT
examinations, a further review
will be done to determine
whether you are eligible for
further fee waiver.

Bursaries are currently for new ACCA
/CAT Students Only. This means that
if you have attempted F5,F6, F7,
F8 and F9 or on the CAT
Programme you have attempted
Paper 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 10 or any
Professional Level Papers of the
ACCA, then you don't qualify.

The
first Bursaries will go to those
attempting Paper 1 to 4 of the
CAT Programme and F1-F4 of the
ACCA Programme

Bursaries are for FULL TIME
students ONLY and they must
undertake at least 3 Modules in
their respective programmes
-
Once
selected for the bursary, you
should confirm your acceptance
before 15th January 2010. Please
note you must register with ACCA
as a student before 31st
December 2009. The ACCA does
not accept late registrations.
You will not be accepted into
the programme if you are not
registered for the June 2010
Examinations with ACCA.

Before you apply for the bursary
check whether you qualify to
undertake the Association of
Chartered Certified Accountants
Professional Scheme. You must
have:

Senior Certificate – issued by
the Matriculation Board with:
-
Completion of 6 subjects, 5
subjects passed in one sitting
-
Minimum aggregate mark of 45% is
obtained, 3 subjects passed at
Higher grade
-
2 passes in a language (one at
Higher Grade) With Passes in
English and Mathematics is
Sufficient for Registration

National Technical Certificate
N4 is Sufficient for
Registration
-
Higher Certificate (S2) / Higher
Certificate in Technology (HCTech)
formerly Technikon National
Higher Certificate (T2)2 is
sufficient for Registration
-
National Certificate (S1) /
Certificate in Technology (CTech)
formerly Technikon National
Certificate (T1) is Sufficient
for registration * Other Countries contact us
with the examination done and
country.
Mature Students who are 21 years or
older intending to register under
MSER (Mature Students Entry Route)
MUST demonstrate their capability of
undertaking the course by passing an
entry examination at the
Polytechnic. This examination will
be in form of an aptitude test.
NB: A National Technical Certificate
N1-N3 is Insufficient for
Registration
