Certificate in Business Accounting
The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting is an entry requirement to the CIMA Professional Qualification and a recognised qualification in its own right.
It will give you a solid grounding in the basics of management accounting and business skills.
The new 2006 CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting is made up of 5 subjects
- C01 Fundamentals of Management Accounting
- C02 Fundamentals of Financial Accounting
- C03 Fundamentals of Business Mathematics
- C04 Fundamentals of Business Economics
- C05 Fundamentals of Ethics, Corporate Governance and Business Law
As from 3 March 2007 all Certificate students will sit assessments under the new 2006 Certificate syllabus.
The syllabus and assessment
Before you start your studies it is essential that you read the new 2006 Certificate syllabus.
You will be examined by computer based assessment (CBA). You can take these assessments at a time that suits you in one of our accredited CBA centres.
All assessments for the 2006 syllabus are 2 hours. The pass mark for each subject is 50% and you will receive your results and a Certificate of Achievement immediately after the assessment. If you are unsuccessful, you will receive some feedback on your performance in the assessment.
Minimum Entry Requirements
The CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting does not require that you have any previous qualifications. It is basically designed to give you a foundation to do the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting. However if you have done CAT, you will be exempted from the above 5 modules so that you can start straight with the Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting.
