Faculty of Computing and Information Systems

The faculty prepares prospective students in the areas of Information Technology in the following fields:
  1. ICDL -International Computer Driving Licence
  2. Certificate in Software Applications (ICDL)
  3. Pastel Accounting
  4. Web Design
  5. PC Engineering (A+)
  6. Networking (N+)
As one of the oldest faculties within the institution, this faculty started by offering short term courses in end user computing by Strathrand Technology in 2002. Since then the faculty has grown to be the biggest in the college with a combined infrastructure of 100 computers and a full faculty of 10 lecturers including support staff.

All Learners regardless of their faculty will be pleased to find that Broadband Internet is available to all students within the college with access codes provided to all students.

International Students-Legal and Regulations

Johannesburg Polytechnic International Office

The Johannesburg Polytechnic International Office provides services to students and visiting scholars at Johannesburg Polytechnic. Our staff assists with problems related to your immigration, medical aid cover, social and personal adjustment to a new culture and practical matters related to your stay in South Africa.

We also provide you with an orientation in February/June to the college community and the city of Johannesburg as well as give you informational materials.
