The Rise of Johannesburg Polytechnic

The college invested heavily in Information Technology by opening a Multi Media Resource Centre which not only catered for the Primary and High School students but also internet access to students from colleges nearby.

The relationship of Strathrand Technology and Johannesburg Polytech Institute grew and in June 2007 Johannesburg Polytechnic was born as the training division of Strathrand Technology.

It was felt that majority of the students who matriculated could not continue with further education because of reasons beyond their control but mainly lack of adequate financial resources.

Johannesburg Polytechnic was incorporated on a platform to offer affordable quality tertiary level education to poor students where fees is kept to a minimum since it was felt that majority of the middle level colleges were charging expensive fees to undertake professional courses.

The college concentrates on giving tuition affordably for reputable international professional bodies chiefly ACCA, CIMA, BCS, CAT, ICB, ICSA, and ICDL courses in Accounting, Computing and Management.

Future Plans

Johannesburg Polytechnic is in the process of getting accreditation to offer its own Diplomas and Certificates with the relevant authorities and sector training authorities.
