<p>Rated at level 7 under the SAQA National Qualifications Framework, the ACCA Qualification is designed to provide the accounting knowledge, skills and professional values which will deliver finance professionals who are capable of building successful careers across all sectors, whether they are working in the public or private sectors, practicing in accounting firms, or pursuing a career in business. In order to qualify as an ACCA member, you will complete:</p>

<p>The ACCA offers various entry points on to the ACCA Qualification</p>
<p><strong>MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS-FOR COUNTRIES USING THE GCSE</strong></p>

<li>Two A Levels and three GCSEs or equivalent in five separate subjects, including English and Mathematics.</li>

<li>Financial Accounting (FFA)</li>
<li><em>Foundations in Professionalism</em></li>

<p><strong>ACCELERATED GRADUATE-ENTRY ROUTE</strong></p>
<p>Relevant degree holders from ACCA-accredited institutions may be exempted from all nine exams within the Fundamentals level and register directly at the Professional level. Degrees with some relevance may also qualify for exemptions</p>
<p><strong>ACCESS TO ACCA VIA CAT QUALIFICATION</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>No academic qualifications required.</li>
<li>Sit Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification first and then transfer to the Skills module of the ACCA Qualification by claiming exemptions from the first three papers in the Knowledge module.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>FOR CANDIDATES WITH SOUTH AFRICAN SENIOR CERTIFICATE:</strong></p>

<li>Senior Certificate – issued by the Matriculation Board with:</li>
<ul>
<li>Completion of 6 subjects, 5 subjects passed in one sitting</li>
<li>Minimum aggregate mark of 45% is obtained, 3 subjects passed at Higher grade</li>

</ul>
<p><strong>HOW LONG IS THE PROGRAMME</strong></p>
<p>Depending on the entry point, the Programme can take approximately 3 years to finalize. This however depends on whether the student is passing examinations. Typically a working professional can undertake 2 modules every six months; (June and December) while a full time student can undertake 4 modules. If both pass the modules every six months without interruption and they don’t have any exemptions it would take a part-time student 3 and half years to finish 14 papers while the fulltime student will take 2 years. Tuition is given for 4 Months.</p>
<p><strong>COLLECT QUALIFICATIONS ALONG THE WAY</strong></p>
<p>There are lots of qualifications you can gain as you study and train for the ACCA Qualification. This is a great way to demonstrate to employers the knowledge and skills you have acquired and helps keep you on track and motivated.</p>
<p>On your way to ACCA membership you can achieve:</p>
<ul>
<li>a Diploma in Accounting and Business</li>
<li>an Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business</li>
<li>A BSc (Hons) degree in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>How Much It Will Cost- ACCA Registration and Examination Fees</strong></p>
<p>In order to undertake ACCA examinations, you need to register as student member, on registration you will be asked to pay an initial subscription fee. Then on 1 January each year, an annual subscription fee will be due. As you enter for exams or claim exemptions, a payment will be requested. The following fees are applicable in 2012 (and are subject to change without written notice)</p>
<p><strong>REGISTRATION AND SUBSCRIPTION FEES</strong></p>
<p>You will be asked to pay an initial registration fee when you apply.</p>
<p>In addition to this, an annual subscription fee will be due on 1 January each year you are registered as a student.</p>

<p>* If you have been registered with ACCA before and you want to re-register, you need to fill in a re-registration form. You can get this from your local ACCA office. The re-registration fee is £77 plus any fees that you owe. This may also be charged if you were removed from the register for having fees outstanding and had not told ACCA that you wanted to leave our student register.</p>
<p><strong>EXAM ENTRY</strong></p>
<p>ACCA has introduced improvements to the exam entry process which apply from the December 2011 exam session onwards. This means that they will apply to you once you have registered to study for the ACCA Qualification. The changes and benefits to you include:</p>
<p><strong>Greater flexibility and choice</strong></p>
<p>You can:</p>
<ul>
<li>enter for exams all year round</li>
<li>enter for one of the next two exam sessions</li>
<li>add exams until the end of the standard entry closing date (the appropriate early or standard fee will apply, depending on when additional exams are added)</li>
<li>remove exam entries made until the end of the standard entry closing date</li>
<li>Amend exam centre, stream or variant without charge until the end of the standard exam entry closing date.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Save money</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>The ACCA has introduced an online early exam entry so if you enter for your exams before 8 September for December exams or 8 March for June exams, you can save yourself (or your family or boss) some money.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>Easy to remember dates</strong></p>
<p>The closing dates for early, standard and late exam entry period are easy to remember – 8 is the date!</p>
<p><strong>Quick and simple</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Entering for exams online is quick and convenient. You will receive instant confirmation that you have been entered for the exams, saving you valuable time to do more important things – like studying for them!</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Please note the following:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>early and late exam entry period only applies if you enter for exams online</li>
<li>discounts only apply for early online exam entry for ACCA and Foundations in Accountancy exams</li>
<li>the new dates only apply to entries for paper-based exams held in June and December and not computer-based exams (CBEs)</li>
<li>the standard exam entry closing date, for both online and paper exam entries has now changed to 8 October for December exams and 8 April for June exams. If you register after this date, you will have to pay the late exam entry fee</li>
<li>if you opt to still receive paper exam dockets, these will be sent out to you after the June and December exam results are released – around mid August and mid February.</li>

<p><strong>COMPUTER-BASED EXAMS</strong></p>

<p>Paper-based exams can be taken in June or December.</p>
<p>However, computer-based exams (CBEs) are available for the first three ACCA Qualification papers and you can sit these at any time of the year. Simply click CBE on our website or call us for more information.</p>
<p>Although you can sit computer-based exams at any time, you will still need to ensure that you are registered as a student and in possession of your student registration number. Please allow at least six weeks for your form to be processed and for your student number to be issued.</p>

<p><strong>STUDY TUITION FEES AT JOHANNESBURG POLYTECHNIC</strong></p>

<p><strong>COURSE DELIVERY MODES</strong></p>
<p><strong>Part time Classes-</strong>These are available on Saturdays only from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Please note that the college may shift some part-time classes to Sundays during Block release programme.</p>
<p><strong>Full-Time Class:</strong> Available during the week. They attract young school leavers who are not currently working.</p>
<p><strong>PROGRESSION UPON COMPLETION</strong></p>
<p>Upon completion of the Fundamentals, and provided you have passed F6, F7 and F9 you can opt to undertake the BSc in Accounting from Oxford Brookes University before proceeding with the Professional papers.  This degree has been jointly designed by the University and ACCA to meet the requirements of a degree and also those of a professional qualification. Students of ACCA are now automatically registered for the Oxford Brookes University degree when they enrol with ACCA. As soon as they have completed the Fundamental Skills papers F1 to F9 of the ACCA&#8217;s professional examinations, and the Professional Ethics module, they may submit a &#8220;Research and Analysis Project&#8221; to Oxford Brookes University which will be assessed by the University Business School staff. This collaboration offers ACCA&#8217;s students the opportunity to:</p>
