Fees Payments and Refunds Policy

INTRODUCTION

Johannesburg Polytechnic is a private Institution, as such it does not get government grants or subsidies. It wholly relies on fees paid by students. Given the foregoing, we are extremely careful and vigilant when it comes to the issues of fees payments.

The following rules applies to fees payments and Refunds.

  1. Fees payments must be paid in full by the start of each course

  2. Fees Installments must be paid on or before the 2nd of every month. Failure to pay by the 7th day will incur an interest equivalent to 10% of the fees payable. If the student has not paid by the 15th Day of the Month, he/she is discontinued from further attendance of classes until such a time the fees are paid in full plus the accrued interest calculated at 10% per month in default.

  3. Registration /Application fee is non refundable under no circumstances

  4. Fees once paid and classes have started are non refundable under no circumstances

  5. Cancellation of a course booked can be made before the course starts provided that any refund made will be less 30% administration/cancellation fee. Please note that once classes starts no refunds are possible.

  6. Canceled classes refunds will only be made to the person/company sponsoring the student. Under no circumstances will the refund be made to any person other than the one who paid the fees.

  7. Should Johannesburg Polytechnic Cancel any course due to "Acts of God" these includes Government Policy Change, Natural Disasters, Political Turmoil, etc. We will not give any refunds under those circumstances.

  8. If and when Johannesburg Polytechnic cancels a course due to unforeseen events, a full refund will be made to the person responsible for fees payments as indicated in the application form. This fees refund will be less 10% administration fee. Application fees however will not be subject to a refund.

  9. International students do not qualify for fees refunds once a student permit has been processed in the name of the college.

  10. International Students must pay their fees in advance before embarking on any courses. No letters of admission will be processed without a full fees payment.

  11. The college does not offer accommodation. As such we do not charge accommodation fees. However if a student requests the college to look for accommodation, R 300.00 must be deposited in the college to facilitate such a request.

  12. Books and stationery are not included in the fees payments. Students are advised that they should budget around R600.00 for books and stationery for each module selected in professional examinations.
